Free stuff success!

All the stuff found new homes within hours. Amazing! Thanks to everyone who responded. It feels so great to see things find new life and be reused. It may take a little more time and effort to find new homes for your stuff than to shove it in the trash and let someone else take it to the dump, but it's a win win win all around.

I'm a huge fan of Freecycle for matching old items with new owners. You can post things you want to give away or post asking for things you're looking for. Everything is free and legal, of course. I've given away a year's worth of National Geographic magazines to teachers / parents with young kids, cell phone chargers for cell phones I no longer use, and extra 3 ring binders taking up space in my office. Hey Alameda freecyclers, local neighbors, friends, thanks for coming to check out the goods. Please let me know if you can make use of any of this stuff. I'd love to save it from going to the dump.

Tansu-style cabinet, solid elm wood. 3 drawers. One of the drawer fronts has a small crack.

2 small bedside table / dressers. One open and on wheels, the other with slide out drawers

Ikea Mikael desk with glass top (2 of these available)

Solid oak futon. Can take just the frame, just the futon, or both.

Large cabinet. Great for an office or garage.

6th Wedding Anniversary

March 28 was our 6th wedding anniversary. We took advantage of the local scenery and took a drive through Tahoe National Forest.

Thanks to the recent rains, the hidden waterfalls were gorgeous.

We also found some not-so-gorgeous evidence of reckless clearcutting.

And at the end of the day, we had a very romantic dinner (quesadillas) on our brand new deck. No lights outside so we had to eat with our headlamps! It's amazing how truly dark it gets at night out in the sticks.
