This blog will attempt to chronicle our joys and woes as we pack up our lives as we know it and start over somewhere else.
In early 2010 we decided to leave Oakland. My husband and I have called this place home for 10+ years. It's a diverse, urban, troubled, and incredible place. It was here that we met and fell in love, got married, bought our first house, joined corporate America and grew up to be responsible, tax paying adults.
We will leave all this behind (all except the part about paying taxes unfortunately), to relocate to the mountain ridges above the middle fork of the Yuba River. This place, out in The Sticks, is my husband's childhood home. We'll be surrounded by trees, dirt roads, beautiful landscapes, and fun-loving hippies!
With any luck, this will be the place where we find a life truly worth living slowly.
have you read "skinny bitch" yet? or watched "food, inc."? yikes....
